Setting Up The 2009 Farm Show
The Ottawa Valley Farm Show sets up in six locations at Landsdowne Park. Heavy equipment is located in the Arena, the Aberdeen Pavilion (also fondly known as the "Cattle Castle"), the Coliseum, and the outside Prominade. While there are other exhibits in these areas, most exhibit booths are located in the Exhibit Hall and on the Upper Concourse.  The Arena, Upper Concourse and Exhibit Hall are all located in the Civic Centre.

Setup usually begins two days before the show, on Sunday. Arena, Concourse and Exhibit Hall setups may be delayed a day if our Ontario Hockey League team, the Ottawa 67's, is scheduled to defeat a visiting team in a Sunday game. The photos in this section were taken on Friday as theOffice trailer arrived and the Freeman crews began setting up the Coliseum, and on Sunday and Monday as the Farm Show began to come alive for 2009.
The Ottawa Valley Seed Growers prepare the entries of the Seed Show on Monday morning. In this photo, a sample is being extracted from near the middle of a hay bale. The judging occurs shortly after noon on Monday (see the Seed Show album). Trophies and prizes are presented at the Awards ceremony held in the Court of Honour on Wednesday at noon.
