PAUL SCHIBLI ORIGINAL FARM SCENE IN SEED SALE
Just in time for the Ottawa Valley Farm Show, Russell watercolourist Paul Schibli has created a pastoral scene specifically for the Prestigious Pedigreed Seed sale on behalf of the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario.

The large original watercolour shows Holstein cows in the field on a fine fall afternoon. Based on his own photographic studies, the painting has been carefully framed by the artist.
A long-time Russell resident, Schibli is a self-taught artist, cartoonist, animator and animated movie producer and director with 35 years in the business, and children's book author and illustrator.

Among his other activities, Paul now teaches watercolour painting in Russell, including to Farm Show manager and Russell resident Tom Van Dusen.

"Paul is an integral part of Russell's vibrant artistic scene," Van Dusen said. "My kids grew up reading his book "Monsters Don't Count". He has a relaxed and engaging style both as an artist and a teacher. He has decades of experience and a keen appreciation of rural and natural features which shows in his work."

Van Dusen thanked Schibli for providing the painting at cost to allow as much profit as possible to go to CHEO.
