| Space contracts - Show days have changed December, 2001 Dear Exhibitor: In our recent mail-out package, you will find your contract for space at the 2002 Ottawa Valley Farm Show to be held March 19-21 at Lansdowne Park in Ottawa. Please return it with payment as soon as possible to guarantee your booth, and carefully read the attached information sheet. I would like to take this opportunity to present several reminders, starting with one concerning show days. They are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday for 2002 as opposed to Wednesday, Thursday and Friday as in the past. The change was made to allow us to take over the Civic Centre arena and move out in time to remove the rink floor for Friday's hockey game, thus providing additional exhibit space, particularly for machinery dealers. The 75th annual Ottawa Valley Seed Growers Association Awards Banquet will be held Tuesday evening, March 19. Set-up days this time will be Sunday and Monday - with Saturday available in some cases - as opposed to Monday and Tuesday. We will let you know your set-up times early in the New Year. Please let us know well in advance if you have any special requirements. Turning to parking, exhibitors will have to pay $3 a day this year since Lansdowne Park now has paid parking with no exceptions. The arrangement is out of our hands. Park managers made an exception for exhibitors last year when they introduced the toll booths, but they warned us there would be no exceptions this year. To Lansdowne's credit, a system has been introduced where exhibitors pay $3 once and are good for one whole day, no matter how often they exit and return to the park. To get the special rate, Farm Show passes must be shown to the attendant at Gate 5 who will issue a multi-use ticket. For the first time, the Farm Show will be offering a seminar/meeting room in the former exhibitors' lounge which has been discontinued. We invite companies and organizations to book the room for their meetings or for educational/informative seminars of interest to Farm Show exhibitors and visitors. On behalf of Seed Growers president Lynda McCuaig, Secretary-Treasure Mary Joynt, and assistant Sue Pascoe, I would like to wish you and yours Best of the Season and a Happy New Year.
