Space confirmation for 2002 - It's our 75th!

Dear Exhibitor;

On behalf of Lynda McCuaig, president of the Ottawa Valley Seed Growers Association, the board of directors, secretary-treasurer Mary Joynt and myself, I invite you to confirm space for the Year 2002 Ottawa Valley Farm Show, March 19, 20, 21. It's our 75th anniversary edition and you'll notice the schedule has been moved to one week later, with show days Tuesday (9am-5pm), Wednesday (9am-9pm) and Thursday (9am-4pm; set-up is on Sunday and Monday (March 17-18). New set-up times will be forwarded. Admission stays put at $6 per adult.

As you know, the Ottawa Valley Farm Show is the largest agricultural and rural goods and services exhibition in Ontario east of Toronto. As in years past, the location is Lansdowne Park in Ottawa; we will be extending our inside space into the Civic Centre arena this year and invite equipment exhibitors wishing to expand, and outside exhibitors wanting to come inside, to contact us as soon as possible. Available at $3 per square-foot - the same as other buildings, with limited outside space remaining $1 per square foot - the arena floor will be allocated on a first-come basis with preference given to large booths. We will also have additional small booth space in the Civic Centre concourse. Here are some other changes:

* We will keep two rows of outside equipment show space between the Civic Centre and the Coliseum; the lower outside area between the Aberdeen Building and the Sprung Structure will be gone.
*Several exhibitors now occupying space along the south wall of the exhibit halls will be moved to allow access to the arena floor. Most will be accommodated near their existing spaces, possibly in the new alleyway between the halls and the arena.
*The Sprung Structure will be reserved exclusively for livestock displays, auctions and other events, and a few related exhibitors, with other exhibitors to be relocated.
*A new City of Ottawa bylaw prohibits all inside smoking at the show. Partly because of the smoking ban, our exhibitors' lounge will be discontinued with the space to be used for meetings and seminars. Please book the room through Sue (613-445-0353).

On a final note, we are always looking for sponsors for various Farm Show activities. For example, we plan to offer a light lunch to exhibitors on the late night at the upcoming show - in addition to morning donuts and coffee - and we're looking for an exhibitor(s) to pick up the tab. Let us know if you're interested, stay tuned for further information and check for updates at www@ovfarmshow.com
