2001 OVFS Award Winners

The Ottawa Valley Seed Growers Association held its awards banquet on the night of Wed., March 14 to honour the winners of the special classes at the 2001 Ottawa Valley Farm Show Seed Show.

The following is the list of winners:

Barclay Dick Challenge Trophy for the best exhibit of Red Clover, won by: Murray Burwell, Renfrew County

Lanark Mutual Insurance Company for the Most prize money in the Pedigreed Classes, won by: Marc Bercier, Prescott County

Robertston Associate Trophy Awarded to the Champion Exhibitor in the Pedigreed Coarse Grain Classes, won by: Marc Bercier, Prescott County

SECAN Trophy most points in Pedigreed Barley, won by: Marc Bercier, Prescott County

SECAN Trophy most points in Pedigreed Wheat, won by: Grahame Hardy, Dundas County

Bishops Farms Seeds Plaque Exhibitor winning championship in the Barley Class, won by: Marc Bercier, Renfrew County

Novartis Award for the best exhibit of Corn Silage, won by: Ian Mudde, Dundas County

Mrs. Ed Wallace & Issac Wallace Challenge Trophy for the Championship Hay Exhibit, won by: Gary Gordon, Frontenac County

Hal Botham Memorial Trophy awarded annually to the Champion Exhibitor of Forage Seeds, won by: Nicholas Seguin, Prescott County

O.V.S.G. challenge for the Champion exhibit of Haylage, won by: Ferme Rico Ltee., Russell County

E.H.Wallace Memorial Trophy presented by Golden Triangle Agri-West for the Champion exhibit of Soybeans, won by: Ron and Rose McKeen, Dundas County

Nutrite Trophy for championship open & 4-H Ear of Corn, won by: Vogeldale Farm, Leeds County

Nation Valley for the Championship Exhibitor of Potatoes, won by: Nicholas Seguin, Prescott County

Embrun Agricultural Co-Op Trophy for the Champion Exhibit of Shelled Corn, won by: Vogeldale Farm, Leeds County

Bill & Margaret Cross Award for the most points in the 4-H section, won by: Jennie Oliver, Lanark County
