| Simmental sale results OTTAWA - Seventeen lots sold for a total of $28,550 and a sale average of $1679 at the Ottawa Valley Simmental Club's Spring Sale at the Ottawa Valley Farm Show Wed., March 15, 2000, according to club secretary Rose Lamingman of Merrickville. Bulls went for an average price of $1892, heifers averaged $1516 and the cow-calf average was $2067. The high selling bull was Burns Starbuck, from Burns Simmental, Perth, which went for $2,000 to the Pattersons of Stoney Creek Farm. Osgoode. Somerled Polled Smokey from Somerled Farm, Kanata, went for the second-highest price, $1800, to Mike McCrea of Pembroke. The high-selling open heifer HAC-MF Miss Julianna fetched $2300 for the Cheslocks of Meadowlock Farm, from Lanesfield Simmentals of Peterborough. Burns Nila from Burns Simmental, Perth, went for $2200 to Tiffany Triemstra of Yellow Rose Simmentals, Carleton Place. The high-selling bred cows and cow-calves were HAC-MF Sallyanne, $2250, from Meadowlock farm, Metcalfe, to George Bell of Bell Star, Mountain; Burns Golden Girl and bull calf, $2000 from Burns Simmental Perth, to Angel Acres, Omemee, and Donovandale Cailey and bull calf, $1950, from Donovandale Simmentals, Stittsville, to Castor Creek Cattle Co., Winchester.
